After a great experience there is nothing more exciting (other than the adventure itself) than to have a video show up in the mailbox after the fact, allowing an opportunity to re-live the entire thing again! The Manta Night Dive DVD was as long as the dive itself, but I have selected some footage that I thought evoked the feel of our dives. There are two clips, one of the manta night dive and one of the pilot whales and oceanic white tip shark. Click on each to see them individually.
The manta night dive joins my short list of great things to have done in my lifetime. If you ever have a chance to do this, don’t think twice. As divers we used scuba tanks and sat on the bottom, but snorkelers including even young children watched from the surface with a view that was equally amazing.
The entire 40 minute long spectacle was an out of this world experience, and I still get goose bumps when I watch this video. And yes, Mike and I are both in the filming – you can recognize me by me floating short gray hair and Mike by his yellow mask and blue fins. The very last few frames are the best!
Manta Night Dive Video
This is a long clip (6+ minutes) so give it time to load before you play it for best effect.
Pilot Whales & Shark Video
This is very short but will give you the idea.
